If you’re in need of urgent help but can’t talk freely, call 999, followed by 55 when prompted from your mobile and then stay on the line. This will highlight that you’re in immediate need of assistance. You’ll then be automatically transferred to the police for help.
If you’re calling from a landline, call 999. The feature to follow this with 55 is not available on landline, so please listen to the questions from the operator and if possible, respond by coughing or tapping the head set.
You can find more information on how to get immediate help through the Metropolitan Police.
