Where one of our members requires additional support from a third party to manage their financial affairs, a Power of Attorney needs to be put in place.
If you're in the UK, you can register for a Power of Attorney on the UK government's website through the Office of the Public Guardian. Once complete this will need to be registered with Zing.
This will enable the Attorney to complete limited actions on a Zing member’s account. These actions include raising a dispute, informing us that a member has been a victim of fraud, closing the account and exercising your Data Protection rights.
To register a Power of Attorney on a member's Zing account, we require:
- Contact details of the Attorney including name, email address and telephone number
- A valid ID document (passport, or a UK Full Driving Licence) of the Attorney (the person who needs access). Please ensure that the document image is of good quality and has no reflections or shadows
- Proof of address for the appointed Attorney (UK Driving License, utility bills or official Government letters), unless you’ve already provided a UK Driving License with this information present
- A copy of the Power of Attorney document (or the access code you received on registration, which we can view through the Office of the Public Guardian service).
